Electrical installation works in Barcelona
new circuits, REBT-compliant.

New circuits, panel additions, wet-zone IP44 installs and smart-home backbone — installed during a reform or in an occupied apartment. Joan Riera (master electrician) sizes the section per circuit and signs the butlletí REBT for every install.

About this service

New install scope, not callouts or full rewire.

Three different services, three different markers. Callouts (one-off problems in occupied flat) → electrician. New circuit or panel addition during a reform → this page. Replacing the entire apartment's wiring → electrical system installation. We file each one differently and quote each one differently.

01

Section sized per circuit

Induction hob 7,4 kW = 6 mm² section, 32 A breaker. AC unit 2,5 kW = 2,5 mm² section, 16 A breaker. EV charger Type 2 = 6 mm² + RCD type B. Calculated, not «approximately».

02

Panel additions

Add new circuits to an existing panel — RCBO per circuit, label, ground bond. If panel is full, sub-panel addition or upgrade to 9,2 kW contract with Endesa. No mixing old fuses with new RCDs without isolation.

03

IP44 wet-zone installs

Bathroom IP44 fittings in correct CTE zones (0/1/2), shaver outlet, mirror lighting, towel radiator wiring. The work that's «just a fixture» legally needs zone certification.

Common installation questions

Things owners ask before signing.

A 7,4 kW induction hob alone needs ~32 A. If your contract is 5,75 kW (~25 A peak), you can install the hob but you'll trip the ICP when also running oven/dishwasher. Standard fix: upgrade to 9,2 kW (~40 A) with Endesa. €180 ICP swap + Endesa contract change.
Schuko 16A (3,7 kW) for slow overnight charge — works on 5,75 kW contract. Type 2 wall-box (7,4 kW) needs 9,2 kW contract + dedicated circuit + RCD type B. Type 2 22 kW needs 14,49 kW contract — usually a separate parking-spot meter.
IP44 fittings only legal in CTE zones 1/2 (over the bath/shower edge or up to 60 cm away). Zone 0 (inside the shower/bath) needs IP55 + 12V. Wrong-zone install fails inspection on bathroom warranty claims. We zone-map every bathroom on the visit.
KNX retrofit is hard — it needs dedicated 24V control wires. Doable for new circuits during a reform, expensive in an occupied flat. Loxone or Shelly relays inside existing back-boxes are cheaper retrofits — €60-90 per switching point, no rewiring needed.
Right. For a complete rewire of the whole apartment (replace all existing wiring with new) see electrical system installation. This page is for new circuits added on top of usable existing wiring.
Right. For one-off callouts (RCD trips, dead socket, panel diagnostic) in an occupied flat see electrician. This page is for new installs (circuits, points, IP44 fittings).
